Lawrence R. Gendron – Art Director:  Lawrence Gendron was born in Claremont, N.H. in 1952. He studied painting, printmaking and art history at Windham College in Putney, Vermont, and spent a year painting on the Connecticut coast before moving into a TriBeCa loft, where he still lives, in 1976. Larry joined Rodgers Studio, a small graphic design firm and worked directly with advertising agencies on large accounts, including Goodyear, 7-Up, DuPont and Eastman Kodak. In 1980 he moved to Sports Illustrated to design the magazine’s annual Year in Sports issue. He remained with SI as an art director for 8 years, building a close relationship with scores of illustrators.

Larry served as Art Director and Creative Director at Financial World from 1988 to 1997 and is the founding Art and Design director of The Deal llc., a publishing and media company started in 1999 by the late Bruce Wasserstein. Over the years, Larry has worked with hundreds of illustrators and photographers. His commissioned work has won awards from the Society of Illustrators, Art Direction, Print, Creativity and Folio.

He has a painting studio in Washington, Connecticut.

Toby Mountain – Audio Mastering Engineer:

In 1985, Dr. Toby Mountain founded Northeastern Digital Recording, Inc., the first digital mastering facility in New England. Toby’s mastering credits include a wide variety of artists such as The Beach Boys, Boston, David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Ringo Starr, Joan Jett, Jay Geils, Arlo Guthrie, Alison Krauss and Bob Marley. He has earned several gold and platinum albums and dozens of Grammy awards and nominations. He is also a member of the Audio Engineering Society, and has published many articles in professional audio journals including “Mix” and “Electronic Musician.”

Toby is also very active in music education. As a former member of the University of Connecticut music department, he now teaches and lectures part time at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He frequently gives guest lectures on Music and Digital Media at various colleges and secondary schools around the country.

Toby has music degrees from Princeton University (BA, 1972) and the University of California at Berkeley (MA, 1978 PhD, 1981). He also spent several years working at the Stanford University Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) and the MIT Experimental Music Studio, two facilities which have pioneered research in computer music.

Matt Mahurin – Illustrator: An accomplished director, photographer and illustrator, Matt’s credits include illustrations for Time, Newsweek and Rolling Stone magazines, as well as album covers and music videos for U2, REM, Peter Gabriel, Metallica, Tracy Chapman, Sting and many others.
